Transitional Living Program

Essential skills and supportive housing for runaway and homeless youth

Green Chimneys’ Transitional Living Program offers youth ages 16-21 shared apartment living in a positive environment, with opportunities to become self-sufficient and acquire tools to successfully transition into community living. On-site support and guidance helps youth to move from crisis to confidence.

Residential program includes:

  • Safe and stable independent living environment in supervised apartments
  • Length of stay up to 18 months or until 21st birthday (whichever comes first)
  • Basic life skills and weekly group sessions to learn to manage day-to-day responsibilities
  • Individual life skills assessments to assist in developing a realistic transitional living plan
  • Weekly individual and group counseling
  • Substance abuse assessment and support for prevention, education and treatment (if needed)
  • Access to health care services within the community
  • Job skills development and assistance in obtaining employment
  • Daily office drop-in hours

Applicant guidelines:

  • Homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • 16-21 years old
  • Desire to live in and contribute to a positive environment
  • Engaged in or demonstrated willingness to be employed, or enrolled in vocational or college program
    *Ideal candidate is already employed minimum of 20 hrs/week.
