The Sam and Myra Ross Farm & Wildlife Center, located on our Brewster Campus, is home to over 300 farm animals, horses and permanently injured or imprinted wildlife. The farm is supported by a dedicated team of animal experts and caretakers who provide the utmost care for our diverse species.
The Farm & Wildlife Center at our Brewster campus is temporarily closed to the public. There are no public visiting hours Saturday and Sunday.
As a popular public attraction, the Farm & Wildlife Center hosts thousands of visitors for enjoyable and educational self-guided farm tours during weekend hours.
Animal-assisted activities and therapies enrich the Green Chimneys School experience. Get a peek at the farm, meet some of the animals, and see how they’re helping students.
Crowned the best for falconry in medieval times, gyrfalcons were once reserved for kings. As the largest falcon in the world, with exquisite plumage ranging from bright white to deep charcoal, gyrs are revered for their powerful skill of flight. Their long wings make hunting waterfowl from 3,000-feet-high a feasible and fantastical feat. This falcon was flown in the sport of falconry for several years.
