Transitional Living Program
Essential skills and supportive housing for runaway and homeless youth
Green Chimneys’ Transitional Living Program offers youth ages 16-21 shared apartment living in a positive environment, with opportunities to become self-sufficient and acquire tools to successfully transition into community living. On-site support and guidance helps youth to move from crisis to confidence.
Residential program includes:
- Safe and stable independent living environment in supervised apartments
- Length of stay up to 18 months or until 21st birthday (whichever comes first)
- Basic life skills and weekly group sessions to learn to manage day-to-day responsibilities
- Individual life skills assessments to assist in developing a realistic transitional living plan
- Weekly individual and group counseling
- Substance abuse assessment and support for prevention, education and treatment (if needed)
- Access to health care services within the community
- Job skills development and assistance in obtaining employment
- Daily office drop-in hours
Applicant guidelines:
- Homeless or at risk of homelessness
- 16-21 years old
- Desire to live in and contribute to a positive environment
- Engaged in or demonstrated willingness to be employed, or enrolled in vocational or college program
*Ideal candidate is already employed minimum of 20 hrs/week.
