For many years, Goldman, Sachs & Co. has partnered with Green Chimneys to bring hope and healing to children suffering from mental health and developmental challenges through innovative animal-assisted and nature-based therapies.
Our Special Education School and Residential Treatment Center, located on a farm and wildlife center in Brewster, New York, provide academic and therapeutic programming. In addition, we work with our rescued animals and wildlife, which helps children develop valuable life and relationship skills and empathy through assisting in their care.
In honor of Green Chimneys’ 75th anniversary year, The Newman’s Own Foundation and The Engelstad Foundation are making an extra special gift by matching every single dollar — up to $75,000 — received before December 31!
All gifts will support therapeutic programs for children and animals.
Crowned the best for falconry in medieval times, gyrfalcons were once reserved for kings. As the largest falcon in the world, with exquisite plumage ranging from bright white to deep charcoal, gyrs are revered for their powerful skill of flight. Their long wings make hunting waterfowl from 3,000-feet-high a feasible and fantastical feat. This falcon was flown in the sport of falconry for several years.
