Announcements

Green Chimneys welcomes school families, community members, and other visitors to its campuses during established weekday and weekend hours.
All non-staff/student members entering either of our campuses are required to sign in at Reception or the Health Center. Visitors must report to one of these locations immediately upon arrival.
Parents of Green Chimneys School students should follow procedures for their respective campus, as outlined in the Parent Handbook.
At check-in, visitors will be required to show valid state-issued identification. A visitor’s permit will be issued and must remain visible while on campus. Visitors will be met and escorted to their destination by a Green Chimneys staff member.
Parents/guardians or school districts who wish to observe their student’s class, may call the school directly to arrange a mutually agreed upon visitation time. Tours for prospective students are arranged with the Admissions department, as part of the student’s application process.
Green Chimneys uses Fast Pass, an electronic visitor management system. This system helps protect our children by tracking visitors, contractors and volunteers who come to our campuses. Upon arrival, all visitors are asked to present a valid state-issued driver’s license, which is entered into the Fast Pass system in order to issue a badge identifying the name of the visitor, the department to be visited, and the time and date of their visit. The system has the ability to provide alerts about any individual that may present a risk to the safety of our school or campus.
Visitors must return their temporary badge prior to exiting the campus, and be signed out of the system. Subsequent visits do require a license. Return visitors should report to the check-in location, state his/her name, and a badge is printed from the individual’s information already in the system.
These procedures are to ensure the safety of our students and staff at Green Chimneys’ campuses. Individuals who are unable to abide by these procedures will be required to leave. Thank you for helping us to keep our campuses safe!
For the safety of our staff and students, outside areas and all campus buildings, including common areas of the school and residences, are under video surveillance. Video surveillance is not allowed in areas where privacy is expected, such as bedrooms, bathrooms, or individual office spaces. Any video footage may be preserved or shared in accordance with federal and state law or oversight agency regulations.
Crowned the best for falconry in medieval times, gyrfalcons were once reserved for kings. As the largest falcon in the world, with exquisite plumage ranging from bright white to deep charcoal, gyrs are revered for their powerful skill of flight. Their long wings make hunting waterfowl from 3,000-feet-high a feasible and fantastical feat. This falcon was flown in the sport of falconry for several years.
