Announcements

The on-campus Health & Wellness Center provides 24-hour nursing services and comprehensive care management, including pediatric care, psychiatric services, routine medical and dental treatment, and nutritional counseling. We are staffed with licensed practical nurses, psychiatrists and a registered nurse, who also works in the School Nurse Office during school hours.
Health & Wellness staff work collaboratively with parents/guardians, students, teachers and physicians to provide a healthy environment for all.
The school nurse administers first aid care and treatment, promotes health education and provides nursing assessments, as well as annual vision and hearing screenings for eligible students. Parents/guardians are notified if a child’s screening test results require further evaluation by a physician. A dentist and dietitian are on campus twice weekly.
Every effort is made by all members of the Green Chimneys community to reduce the spread of illness on our campus by encouraging and modeling hand washing before and after meals, activities, and contact with animals. Bathrooms are checked by staff after every use to ensure a hygienic atmosphere for the next user. Proper hand washing techniques are supervised if necessary. Hand sanitizers are available campus-wide.
If you are a parent or physician/pediatrician of a Green Chimneys resident,
you may contact the Health & Wellness Center at 845.279.2995 x1253.
Crowned the best for falconry in medieval times, gyrfalcons were once reserved for kings. As the largest falcon in the world, with exquisite plumage ranging from bright white to deep charcoal, gyrs are revered for their powerful skill of flight. Their long wings make hunting waterfowl from 3,000-feet-high a feasible and fantastical feat. This falcon was flown in the sport of falconry for several years.
